Bengaluru, Sep 14: "I have not done anything wrong. No one can finish me off politically with false accusations, by dragging my name in a drugs scandal," said Congress MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan.
Speaking to the media persons in the city on Monday, the MLA said, "Accusations are made against me that I have been to Colomb, Sri Lanka with actress Sanjjana. Has Sanjjana given any record of this matter to these people? Now they are talking about Faisal. No matter what is said in this regard, I have not done anything wrong."
"The police are investigating and unearthing evidence regarding drug racket in the state. The truth will surely come to light. Let Prashanth Sambaragi, who claims that I have been to Sri Lanka with Sanjjana, provide at least one photograph as proof," Zameer stressed.
He maintained that the allegations made against him were politically motivated. "There is some sort of political vengeance behind the accusations that are made against me. Some people are growing envious of the progress I have been making in my political career. So they have decided to finish me off politically. However, the police of our state is quite capable. I have faith in them. I have also filed a complaint against Sambaragi for defaming me. A legal fight is on. Police are also investigating."
"I have been to Colombo on tour with my family. I have also visited the place along with Kumaraswamy as well as with other JD(S) MLAs. Also, it does not mean that if a person has visited Colombo, he has paid a visit to the casinos. I travel for peace of mind," said Zameer responding to the statement of former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.
