Fayaz Masood, who belonged to an affluent family from here, had been missing for the last seven years. His parents, wife, and two children live in the city. But none of them filed any missing complaint about Masood, National Investigation Agency (NIA) sources stated, as confirmed by an English newspaper.
Dr Abdurrahman was arrested on August 17 from here on the basis of clues about the ISIS activities getting intensified in India. During the interrogation by NIA, he gave information about Fayaz Masood. He also revealed that Masood used to guide the youngsters willing to join the ISIS.
"I had met Masood at Atme city on the Syrian border in 2013. Later, he died in attacks launched by security forces. One of his companions was injured. Therefore, I dropped the idea of joining the ISIS and returned to the city after getting financial help from my parents," Abdurrahman reportedly told the NIA officers.
