Bengaluru, Sep 12: After 23 prominent leaders of the Congress wrote to the high command seeking to bring sweeping changes in the way the party is being managed, there was commotion within the party. On Friday, the organization was reorganized. The new AlI India Congress Committee (AICC) list has since been announced.
K C Venugopal, who was in-charge of Karnataka Congress affairs since sometime, has been shunted out, and Randeep Surjewala has been brought in his place. Venugopal will continue as the organizing secretary of the AICC.
Randeep Surjewala
Randeep Surjewala (52) is from Haryana. He was an MLA and minister in the past. He has been functioning as the official spokesperson of the party now. He holds degrees in commerce and law and had been the youth Congress president in the past.
Dinesh Gundu Rao has been made in-charge of the party affairs at Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Goa. H K Patil has been made in-charge of the party affairs in Maharashtra. Krishna Byregowda has been accommodated in the AICC election unit led by Madhusudan Mistry. In the AICC executive committee led by the party president Mallikarjun Kharge has bagged a spot while K H Miniyappa, Dinesh Gundu Rao, and H K Patil have been made permanent invitees with B V Srinivas having been accommodated as special invitee.
