Kasargod, Sep 11: The district administration has decided to further ease the lockdown restrictions from September 21.
“KSRTC buses will be allowed to operate between Kasargod and Mangaluru and Kasargod and Panjikal from Sep 21 on the basis of an on-demand system. Passengers should book KSRTC tickets online for a month and the buses will run if there are at least 40 passengers. Entry to the tourist spot, Bekal fort will be also permitted from Sep 21,” said deputy commissioner Dr D Sajith Babu. He was speaking after presiding over a video conference of the corona control advisory committee on Friday.
“Covid regulations should be followed. Only 100 people will be allowed in at a time. Entry will be permitted to Pallikere beach and Ranipura also. BSRD resorts of tourism department will be opened from Sep 21. Rapid Antigen tests are made mandatory for them. Boat services will be allowed after required Covid guidelines are followed,” he added.
“Up to 100 people will now be permitted to take part in private and public programmes such as funerals and weddings. However, it does not apply to political meetings and conferences. The matter will be further discussed and decided in a meeting involving political parties and elected representatives,” the DC said.
Assistant DC D R Meghashree, additional DC N Devidas, district medical officer Dr A V Ramadas, zonal revenue officer Shamsuddin, DySP Balakrishnan Nair, Vinod Kumar, Madhusoodan M and others were present.
