Kalaburagi, Sep 11: There is a twist in the case pertaining to the seizure of 1,300 kg of ganja, which the Bengaluru police confiscated in an operation in the district.
It is confirmed that the main accused among the arrested people Chandrakanth Chavan is a BJP activist.
The photo which the accused has taken with other activists has gone viral on social media. The leaders of Congress are all set to exploit the situation. Former minister Priyank Kharge has already posted the photo of Chandrakanath Chavan on his Twitter account and resorted to ridiculing the BJP leaders.
Priyank Kharge has also questioned through a tweet about the leaders who were supporting the accused Chandrakanth Chavan. He has also tweeted that during the time of Congress rule, they had put brakes on all illegal activities like cards, club and ganja. However, as soon as the BJP took over the state, Kalaburagi district has become the centre of all illegal activities.
In another tweet Priyank Kharge posted, "BJPians, you are in power and have all the resources at your disposal, please find out how many gambling dens have cropped up in Kalaburagi. Who is giving permission to run recreational clubs? Under whose political protection are these peddlers growing?"
