Bicholim, Sep 10: Over 60 Bicholim residents who recovered from COVID-19 expressed their willingness to donate plasma, said Bicholim mamlatdar Pravinjay Pandit.

Convalescent plasma from people who have had coronavirus infection is touted to contain antibodies against the virus that could help hospitalised patients fight the virus.

“We had undertaken an awareness drive on plasma donation after which 60 people came forward to donate,” Pandit said. The office of the mamlatdar has also distributed pamphlets on plasma donation to patients undergoing treatment at a Covid care centre in Bicholim.
