Udupi, Sep 9: In Sri Krishna Math here, Paryayotsava happens to be the biggest festival. Krishnaleelotsava is next in terms of importance and grandeur. However, this time, all the celebrations will be confined just to keep up with the traditions without public participation or grandeur.

On this Krishnashtami, Paryaya Admar Math Sri Ishapriya Teertha Swamiji will offer one lac Tulsi twigs to the Lord from 7 to 9 am on September 10. After the Mahapuja, he will launch preparation of laddu, chakkuli and other dishes for being offered to the Lord for the night puja. In the evening, a discourse will be arranged at the Rajangana followed by a Sanskrit Yakshagana performance at night. At 10 pm, the puja of Lord Krishna will begin and Arghya (libation) will be offered to the Lord at 12.16 am. Swamijis of different Maths and staff of the Math will have an opportunity to offer Arghya to the Lord.

Maha Puja will be performed on September 11. In the afternoon, Vittal Pindi car festival will start in which the idol of the Lord will be taken in procession in a golden chariot. The chariots of Lord Anantheshwara and Chandramouleeshwara will accompany the golden chariot.

Twelve Gurji and two Mantaps have been set up at the car street for the Mosaru Kudike festival. As many as 44 pots will be readied for Mosaru Kudike. As only 100 people can participate as per the orders of the district administration people will be restrained from entering Car Street. There will not be any tiger dances or Ashtami Veshas.

Six swamijis who have completed their Chaturmasya will participate in the festival. They will also be present at the Vittal Pindi. As public entry has been banned, Krishnashtami Prasadam will be delivered to houses and offices in the city, as per a plan the management of the Math has made. One lac laddus and one lac chakkuli will be made for this purpose.

Govindaraj, manager of Sri Krishna Math, while regretting the fact that the people cannot participate in the festival, asked them to watch the festival online or through social sites this time.
