Haveri, Sep 4: A soldier returning home after retiring from the Indian Army has voluntarily quarantined himself in a tin sheet shed in the outskirts of his village.
Lingaraj Shivasimpigera from Kodabala village, Haveri taluk, happens to be the retired soldier in question. He has volunteered to home quarantine in this fashion. He has not displayed any symptoms of the disease and remains asymptomatic but he has preferred to stay away as he does not want his family members and fellow villagers to face any problems because of him.
Lingaraj had served in the army for 17 years. He returned home, but because of the wide prevalence of coronavirus infection, he opted for two-week home quarantine. He said that his purpose of staying in the tin sheet shed is to ensure that elders and aged people of the village do not face any problem because of him.
