Mumbai, Mar 29: The metro-based Karnataka Sangh organized a two-day fifth Kannada literary and cultural meet at Dr M Visheveshwarayya Memorial auditorium, Matunga (West), here from Saturday March 27 to Sunday March 28.
Renowned Kannada litterateur Satyanarayan inaugurated the meet. Critic Professor K R Nagaraj delivered the keynote address.
Janapada scholar and litterateur Dr Krishnamurti Hanoor conducted the seminar on Kannada poetry and new perspective in penning poems. Chandrashekar Kedlaya Brahmavar and vidushi Shyamala Radhesh Mumbai staged a musical concert. Critic Dr Girija Shastry compered the seminar on vachana.
Karnataka Sangha president Manohar M Kori delivered the introductory address. Vice president Bharat Kumar Polipu compered the programme. Honorary chief secretary Omdas Kannangar welcomed the gathering. Honorary treasurer B G Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
Kannada play ‘Kondavaru Yaru?’ was staged by the artistes of Prayoga Ranga troupe from Bangalore, which is directed by K V Nagarajmurti, as part of cultural programme.
