Abu Dhabi, Sep 3: Two separate explosions in the UAE's capital, Abu Dhabi and tourism hub Dubai left three people dead and several others were injured. The blast occurred on Monday, August 31 the police and local media reported.
The incident occurred at Rashid bin Saeed Street on the two restaurants KFC and Hardees, the media office of the Abu Dhabi government reported.
The street is also the major road to the airport where top aides are expected to land next week including US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a historic trip between Israel and Arab country.
The Abu Dhabi police reported that the blast resulted in several minor and moderate injuries and adjacent buildings were evacuated for safety. The blast is said to have occured due to a misalignment in the gas container fittings following refuelling, as reported by the Abu Dhabi government media reports.
In Dubai, the blast occured after a gas cylinder exploded in a restaurant which blazed and damaged the ground floor of the building. The fire was controlled in 33 minutes, it was reported.
