Karkala, Sep 3: State education minister S Suresh Kumar, called the teachers of Nallur government higher primary school and appreciated them for thinking out of the box and trying to create a school environment at the homes of the students.
The minister contacted the headmaster of the school over mobile phone on Wednesday and wondered how he got such a novel idea. He praised him for the love and concern the teachers of this Kannada school have about their profession and the school. He asked him to put the phone on loudspeaker mode and talked to individual teachers.

During his conversation with two sixth standard students, Ayesha and Poorvi, he wanted to know whether they can recite multiplication tables and appreciated Poorvi for her ability to tell the tables for 8 and 9 on the reverse. The minister spent about 30 minutes with the teachers and students.
The school has been relaying prayer and state anthem through a loudspeaker tied to a mango tree in the courtyard of the school. The sound is heard for a radius of two kilometres from the school. The children wear their uniforms and wear identity cards on school time and take part in the 'Vidyagama' educational activities conducted in their respective areas.
