Mangalore, Mar 29: Former BJP state president and Udupi-Chikmagalur MP, D V Sadanand Gowda, predicted that the BJP will corner 115 to 120 seats in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike election, which was held on Sunday March 28.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, he claimed that the Congress Party and the JDS have already accepted their defeat in the election. “Several leaders of both these parties have been speaking of striking an alliance. They are not confident of the victory of their respective parties. Therefore, they would do well to consider entering into an alliance in the opposition. The Congress leaders are frustrated, and because of their apprehensions, have distributed liquor and money in large quantities. In several wards, the Congress Party had entered into an internal understanding with the JDS. The development-oriented governance of the BJP has worked in its favour, and the people of Bangalore are sure to hand over power in BBMP to the BJP,” he stated.
