Kundapur, Sep 1: Three male calves were found to be illegally transported in a Bolero vehicle at Janata Colony, Kavradi village on Tuesday, September 1.

Kundapur rural sub inspector Ravish Holla was taking rounds at around 5.30 in the morning when a two-wheeler and a black Bolero recklessly approached from Kavradi Doopadakatte inner road. The two-wheeler did not stop when asked to halt. The Bolero behind it then stopped by the side of the road and the driver fled the scene with his counterpart who was also in the vehicle.

The driver is said to be a resident at Kandlur identified as Samir with his accomplice Mutalib. The two men in the four-wheeler had tied and dumped three male calves in an inhuman manner in the vehicle.

It appeared that the accused had stolen the cattle and were transporting to slaughter them. While all the three accused escaped, a case in this connection was registered at Kundapur rural police station.

This is a very irresponsible and mischievous rule of law by the govt. Why can't they make beef legal??????...... Those who want to eat they will eat anyway but those who don't nobody is forcing them. Nobody is going to thier houses and hurting thier sentiments. Govt is slaughtering and exporting beef from its own agencies. Some states in the country have legal beef slaughter, sale and consumption. Nepal being a majority Hindu nation and cow being thier national animal sale and consumption of beef is legal in Nepal. From Hindu religious point of view there is no restriction on eating beef. Even most of the Islamic countries have no restriction on pork sale and consumption even though it is strictly mentioned in thier holy book. Then why all this biased approach and create unnecessary law and order situation. As it is people are dying of hunger so why not give some food alternate if they wish and like. Atleast govt can import beef from other states if they don't want to slaughter in some states. If these restrictions and violations are going for very very long time then there is something seriously to ponder on.
