Bantwal: Hit-and-run case - Police trace killer vehicle within hours

Bantwal, Sep 1: A two-wheeler rider was killed in a hit-and-run road accident which happened on Monday August 31 evening. The victim had suffered grave injuries in the accident and was admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru. However, he passed away at the hospital in the night.

The accident happened on Mangaluru-Bengaluru national highway near B C Road Circle here on Monday evening. The two-wheeler rider, Prakash R Chowta from Pallamajalu in the taluk, had suffered serious injuries to his head. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru where efforts made to save him failed, and he lost his life in the night.

Chowta was moving towards B C Road from the direction of Panemangalore when an unidentified car which came from behind had knocked him down before going away without caring to stop.

A police team led by Melkar traffic station sub-inspector Rajeh K V, located the vehicle which had caused the said accident within hours and registered a case against the car driver. Rajesh who rushed to the spot after the accident, gathered the vehicle details from CCTV camera footage and found the car in Mangaluru.

    Why these police not mentioning the name of hit and run murderer and not showing his photo. small time thieves are killed and murdered in broad daylight but these high tech rich thieves or politicians who loot poor mans public tax and spread demons of hatred mongering and lies (oral murder and character assassination) and pride and double standards and hypocrisy and evildoers get away and become bigger politiciands leading to curses for four generations( like -23% GDP) and hellfire as per Garuda puranan shaastra and vedas and upanishads and Gita. Karmam phalam guaranteed. they can escape man's justice but no escape from God's wrath. Ask PM hopefuls Jetlee, sushma, manohar, pramod mahajan, vajapayee, george, anath kumar, joshi , etc. Rotting in hellfire.

    Driving in India is not as per rules and regulations.like aanimals,they enter from nowhere and everywhere.Noone follows the rule.noone cares even when a accident happens and person is seriously injured or died.Simply fly from spot.How one can be so find peace with their conscious, I dont understand.This everything can be controlled and hard punishments are given to people dont follow rules.Must be Consequent.unfortunately our law and makers too are not doing this.corruption has taken upper hand.Best licence has to be cancelled,heavy punishment ,to rowdys should be given.Dont allow too many vehicles on roads.only limited amount of vehicles comparing to the populations in cities .when someone dies due to accdents due to neglected driving,arrest person and give him some years jail whendied.Only then people get a bit of fear.

    These are the new drivers migrated from neighboring states to DK . They bring more misery and paid to Mangaloren's leave alone any benefits to the society. We can see lot of un-preceedented accidents in Mangalore due to influx of migrant people. We need to stop this as they spoil the peace and harmony of DK.

    Oh worst driving.

    1. will not make the light dim. Opp. vehicle find difficult to drive.

    2. Parked vehicle suddenly moved backwards without noticing the vehicle coming from backside..

    3. Cars open door suddenly without observing the vehicle from backside.

    4. Vehicles enters from cross road will enter the main road without patience.

    5. Vehicles are parked at the the entrance of the cross road and the main road vehicles cannot be
    seen while entering the main road from cross road.

    6. Vehicle comes from wrong side. No entry etc.

    7. Dogs suddenly entering in middle of nowhere
    8. Some ignorant riders / drivers suddenly entering your lane on highway
    9. Auto rickshaw / scooty / bikers coming in wrong direction on highway to skip u turn
    10. Trucks suddenly changing lanes on highway
    11 Mangalore - Udupi - Kundapur Not a proper highway lots of u turns

    Mangalore riders and drivers are some of the worst I have seen in India. It seems like every biker / rider/driver has a death wish. I have noticed that they just come out of a lane and joinbthe main road without looking right or left. Also people think side mirrors are for decoration more than a necessity.
    I have noticed people from India failing 10 or 15 times during license tests in Dubai even after driving in India for 25 years.
    Also the roads in Karnataka are some of the most pathetic in india . And road tax highest in india.

    I got the driving license at first attempt while working in Dubai and it was a record! It is more stringent in USA since there is also written test here. Two most important things to remember while driving:

    1. Be courteous to other drivers
    2. Do defensive driving( meaning anticipate mistake of other drivers)
