Bangalore, Mar 27: Three persons, Basheer, Najeeb, and Allwynkumar from Kerala have been arrested in connection with their suspected involvement with the planting of a cricket ball-size crude bomb in the cargo area of a Kingfisher flight between the city and Thiruvananthapuram.
It is gathered that these three persons worked with the airline as contract workers and had some dispute with the management of the airline. They had recently submitted their resignations, but they were yet to be accepted.
To settle scores with the airlines management, they reportedly kept the crude bomb, before the flight began its onward flight from Thiruvananthapuram. The bomb was detected only after the flight reached the city and returned to Thiruvananthapuram.
The policemen, who got the clue that the three were planning to fly to Dubai by Emirates Airlines flight and then reach Kabul, arrested them from Kerala and handed them over to the policemen of the immigration department of Bengaluru International Airport. There are indications that three more persons too were involved with the crime, and investigations are in progress.
