Puttur: Collision between bike, car - Two people lose lives

Puttur, Aug 31: In an accident which happened between a motorbike and a car on the night of Sunday August 30, two people on the motorbike lost thier lives. The accident happened near Narmogaru school.

Both the persons on the bike, who had suffered critical injuries, were lying on the road. Working president of Puttur Lord Mahalingeshwara Temple area, Arunkumar Puttila, who was passing by, saw the condition of the two and took them to the hospital in the town in his car. Out of the two who were seriously injured, one died without responding to treatment. Another person reportedly died later.

The deceased have been identified as Bhavith, son of Umesh from Kuria Idabettu, and Mithun, son of Kattathbail Aithappa, also from Kuria Idabettu.

    Very true. Rarely we used to hear about accidents during the days of CPC, Shanker Vittal buses, Ambassador cars, Bajaj scooters and Java bikes. Of course traffic too was very less, roads were safe and peaceful. Gone are those golden days.

    Very sad.Young lives lost.Rest in peace.My condolences to their family.Our roads have become death traps.Lastly its good to see some samaritans helping people in distress.God bless

    Our roads have been death traps for decades now they are far better but in earlier days there were hardly deaths on roads due to safe driving. Remember earlier days CPC, ShankarVittal and Hanuman Transport buses and their super expert safe drivers. Now it's the driving craze and habits of the present generation particularly the youth and precisely those riding motorbikes or scooters that cutting short the lives of the young. If one drives from Mangalore- Karkala via Moodabodri road one will have at least one or two near misses due to idiotic riders of two wheelers on this road who ride with pillions that too without helmet. Sad that two lives lost and sympathy to the grieving parents .
