Mangaluru, Aug 29: City crime branch police personnel arrested two ganja peddlers transporting large amounts of ganja to Mangaluru and Kerala state in a pickup vehicle on NH 66 near Thare Thota, Pumpwell, on August 21.
Police seized 132 kg ganja, a Mahindra Bolero pick up vehicle, a swift car which was an escort vehicle and two mobile phones altogether worth Rs 43 lac in the operation.
The arrested are Kalandar Mohammed Shah (35), from Uppala, Kasargod, and Moidin Ansar (27), from Kunjathur village, Kasargod.
The operation was conducted on guidance from police commissioner Vikas Kumar Vikas, in the presence of Mangaluru central division ACP Jagadish in the leadership of CCB unit inspector Shivaprasad R Nayak. CCB unit police sub inspector Kabal Raj, Pradeep T R, assistant police inspector Mohan L, Mohan K V, Tej Kumar and staff Chandra Adoor, Yogish, Chandrahas Sanil, Girish Suvarna, Rajendra Prasad, Reji, Mani, M S Abdul Jabbar, Nutan Kumar, Sudheer Kumar, Raja, Ashith Vishal D’ Souza, Anjanappa and Manoj Kumar took part in the operation.
