Bangalore, Mar 23: In a release, Popular Front of India (PFI) has criticized the BJP government in the state for passing the Anti Cow Slaughter Bill, overlooking strong objection from the opposition parties, and protests from a large number of people of the state. “This is nothing but another anti people policy of the state government. It is against democratic set up of the country. Forcing the people to change their food habits and implementing the Hindutva agenda in the state by the government are not acceptable,” it said.
People of the state are facing lot of grave problems like corruption, illegal mining, acute shortage of electricity, price rise, improper drainage system etc. The BJP government, instead of solving such problems, is showing interest in banning cow slaughter. This attitude should be condemned, it said.
State president of PFI, Mohammad Elyas, has asked the people of the state to come together to protest the anti people policies of the state government and pressurize the government to withdraw the cow slaughter ban. It has also sought support for its programmes by like-minded, secular political parties etc.
