Kamala Harris accepts Democratic VP nomination

Washington, Aug 20 (IANS): California Senator Kamala Harris has formally accepted her nomination as the Democratic Party's Vice Presidential candidate, becoming the first woman of South Asian descent to be nominated to a major US party's presidential ticket.

In her acceptance speech on Wednesday night at the ongoing Democratic National Convention (DNC) at the Chase Centre in Wisconsin, Harris, a daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, said: "It is truly an honour to be speaking with you. That I am here tonight is a testament to the dedication of generations before me.

"Women and men who believed so fiercely in the promise of equality, liberty, and justice for all."

"I accept your nomination for Vice President of the United States of America," ABC News quoted Harris as saying.

Harris was officially nominated by her sister Maya, niece Meena, and stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, CNN reported.

The Senator opened her vice-presidential acceptance speech by remembering her late mother, Shyamala Gopalan, a cancer researcher from India, lamenting the fact that she could not be there to see her daughter's achievement.

"My mother taught me that service to others gives life purpose and meaning. And oh, how I wish she were here tonight but I know she's looking down on me from above," Harris was quoted as saying.

Harris' acceptance came two days after former Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday was formally nominated as the Democratic Party's candidate to take on President Donald Trump in the November 3 election.

    Even her mother origin as Indian I do not think she will support Indian.Our medias will make big noise that she is from India and we are proud bla bla....I met many Indians who settled in UK ,USA. and they never say they from India .As they will they i am from british i am canadian or American.These all drama fro vote banks.

    Proud of her being Indian origin but,

    Giving power to communists to conquer the world and india also ?? Already half conquered with their evil virus!. Democrats are communists simple as that.

    Just for vote bank they have selected her, run by Soros, Rothchild, Rockefeller and communists and socialists backed by Russia and China. They are already started preparing AOC for 2024. Already in Canada, France, Italy, Spain left leaning coalition in Rule including Europe. That's why most of the Leaders hate Trump. If US goes then almost world comes under communism.

    Want Communist rule or more incursions, invasion, and wars or chaos as happening in US in the name of race and religion one can vote left democrats. Communists once in power then like putin, xi, kim and as in Venezuela, no race no religion no freedom but under total Godless atheistic dictatorship. Once world under communist control communist will show their real colours as in China, Russia and North Korea.

    Not to forget virus, lockdown, economic downturn, communist style control.... All communist mastermind started in communist china to control and rule the world.
