Panaji, Aug 17: Trouble seems to be mounting for Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress committee chief, Pratima Coutinho in another case filed against her under South Goa police jurisdiction for insulting the National Map in her Independence Day greetings.
Social activist, Dilip Nayak has filed a formal complaint at Fatorda Police Station against carrying the Indian Map excluding Kashmir from it. The complainant has alleged that this is an act of being separatist.
Sources stated that Nayak was an election agent of former BJP MLA Damodar Naik during the last Assembly Election.
A senior police officer said that the complaint is being investigated. This is the second police complaint against Coutinho over the incident. The first one was filed by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti convener, Manoj Solanki on Sunday.
“It is noticed on Facebook and other social media pages that Pratima Coutinho under the pretext of greeting people on the occasion of Independence Day. Unfortunately, the same is carrying a map of India without Kashmir which is intentionally deleted or erased to show her solidarity with the separatists in Kashmir Valley. She has given an excuse saying that it is a mistake of her designer.
The complainant has stated, “I strongly feel that this could be a start of the separatist movement in Goa too led by her in the times to come.”
