Panaji, Aug 4 (IANS): Facing a steady stream of criticism of the Opposition as well as Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that his government welcomes criticism, as long as it is "constructive, positive" and accompanied by suggestions.
"There should be criticism, but it should be positive, constructive and suggestive... We welcome criticism. We take it positively and we have always incorporated suggestions in the past," Sawant said, during the launch of the 'MyGov Goa' portal here.
Sawant has been at the receiving end of criticism from the Opposition as well as Governor Malik over mismanagement of the Covid-19 pandemic over the last few weeks.
On August 1, Malik also slammed the Sawant-led administration for proposing the construction of a new Raj Bhavan complex in the midst of a Covid-19 pandemic, calling the decision "irrational and imprudent".
The state which was Covid-19 free until May this year, has seen a sustained spike in coronavirus cases since.
The state currently has registered 6,816 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 56 persons have died in Goa on account of the coronavirus. There are currently 1,884 active cases in the state.
