Panaji, Aug 2: Goa witnessed a major spike in the deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday when five people died by afternoon.
The day began with the first death at 6.40 am when 72 year old male from Headland Sada who was admitted to ESI Hospital on July 24 expired.
Within one hour, 54-year-old male from Zuarinagar, Vasco, who was admitted today itself died.
Three hour later, 45-year-old woman from Baina who was admitted on July 25 with bilateral pneumonia died at 10.30 a.m.
The series of deaths continued even in the afternoon when at 2 pm, 54-year-old male from Durbhat, Ponda expired.
Within next one hour, 72-year-old female from New Vaddem, Vasco died at the hospital.
