Panaji, Mar 11: Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) police on Thursday March 11 arrested a security guard attached to state’s renowned educational institute for selling drugs.
Nepali national, Bahadur alias Bhagwan Singh,50, working for last 20 years with St Xavier College at Mapusa, 9 kms away from here, was apprehended with charas in his possession at the college gate this morning.
Superintendent of police (ANC) Veenu Bansal said that there were several complaints from the students about the watchman prompting the raid.
Bansal said that the decoy customer was sent to the watchman, last night at 11.30 p.m, who obliged the customer with the charas. The police raid traced 850 gms of charas in his possession. The drugs confiscated is worth Rs 90,000.
St Xavier’s College is a renowned institution run by Christian missionaries with more than one thousand students studying there. Police sources stated that the watchman was selling drugs to the students.
