Mangaluru, Jul 30: Anuradha Baliga, sister of RTI activist Vinayak Baliga, who was murdered four years ago,  has received phone calls threatening her life from abroad. As per sources, Anuradha Baliga has been still pursuing her brother's case and met the police commissioner requesting him to hold a complete investigation into the murder of her 51-year-old activist brother.

It is said that Anuradha received threatening phone calls after she met the police commissioner.

Earlier on Thursday, July 30, an alliance of patriotic organisations visited the Anuradha Baliga at her home and instilled words of encouragement and courage in her.

Narendra Nayak, Muneer Katipalla, Santosh Bajal, Pradeep Urva, Chetan and many others were present.

It may be recalled, back on March 21, 2016, Baliga was on his morning walk when he was hacked to death but miscreants.

The information is leaked to a local who informs the person abroad ,only then the person abroad could give a death threat. Both the timings before and after the appointment suggest this. The person in the office can be and should be easily identified and dismissed, if there is a will to do it.Also the local person who collected the information can be easily tracked, again if there is a will to do this!!

I don't know why the hands of law hasn't delivered justice yet?
And this family must be provided with protection from anti-social elements who operate under various guises. People should not follow narrow minded,

Such cases must be handled by CBI and justice must be given to family.
I know this family is now living under constant threat. And the so called anti social elements are calling her from internet so that calls cannot be traced easily.

All so called RTI activists should think about themselves and their families before they want to shine. Otherwise there is no surprises. Law is supporting everybody. Immediate solution is public lynching. But some people are against it.

All the information sought under RTI with reply to the same should be made available on RTI portal for general public....

Also when any RTI activist is murdered / attacked all the pending requests of the particular RTI activist should be automatically handed over to CBI or other central investigating authorities for investigation.....

The punishment for seeking the truth is death.

The government therefore has the responsibility of ensuring the safety of RTI applicants so the act can continue to be used to promote transparency, check corruption and ultimately, improve this country. But, by the number of RTI seekers' killing, it seems, there is no such a help from any source to the activists.
