Mangaluru, Jul 30: Dr K V Rajendra took charge as new deputy commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada (DK) on Thursday July 30. Dr K V Rajendra is the 130th DC of the district.
He was welcomed by outgoing DC Sindhu B Rupesh, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) M J Roopa and officials of various department were also present.
Speaking after taking charge, he said, “I have taken the charge now. I will call a meeting of concerned officials and try to understand the issues of the district. Both Dakshina Kannada and Belagavi district, where I worked earlier, are border districts. In both the districts, people who have come from other states are more. So more coronavirus cases are expected. This is challenging to all the officials and administrators.
“I will continue the good works that are going on in the district. Wherever improvement is needed, I will form plans for the same. I have worked in Dakshina Kannada district earlier also. I will see the present situation and bring reforms if required,” he said.
