Bengaluru, Jul 29: Leader of the opposition and former CM Siddaramiah has accused the ruling BJP state government of trying to implement its secret agenda by saffronizing the school textbooks.

Tweeting in this regard, Siddaramaiah said, "The decision of removing the lessons pertaining to Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Tippu Sultan, Sangoli Rayanna and Rani Abbakkadevi from the textbooks of 10th standard is condemnable. Official BJP government is getting weakened. Unofficial Sanghi (RSS) government is getting stronger."

"Minister Suresh Kumar said that there is no role of the state BJP government in removing the lessons pertaining to certain great personalities. Is the Karnataka textbooks committee above the state BJP government? Set that right immediately. Otherwise, accept your part in the act," he questioned.

"The state BJP government, which is unable to control the coronavirus pandemic, is trying to misuse the situation prevailing in the state and trying to implement its secret agenda by saffronizing the textbooks of school. Congress party will not tolerate these kinds of tactics of the ruling state BJP government. A protest might be inevitable."

The BJP government is afraid of the truth being taught for the new generation. In former BJP ruled Rajasthan government under Vasundar Raje who is grand daughter of Scindia ruler of Gwalior was Jayajirao removed the history lessons of 'Jhansi Rani Laxmi Bai'.

Former ruler Jayajirao Scindia of having “betrayed” Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi by providing her with a “weak horse”. “Rani (Queen) of Jhansi, Lakshmi Bai came to Gwalior when general Huroz of British army defeated Lakshmi Bai in Kalpi. Maharaja Scindia of Gwalior betrayed Lakshmi Bai. He gave her a weak horse. Sensing something fishy Lakshmi Bai decided to leave Gwalior. She laid down her life, while fighting British, on 18th June 1858.”

Since Junior Scindia from Royal family are technically traitors, refusing refuge to Rani Laxmi Bai and owing allegiance to the then British Empire. Why is it then that BJP are regarded so highly by the Indian voters?

The Karnataka BJP government has put on hold a controversial proposal to drop certain chapters, including on Islam, Christianity, Tipu Sultan and his father Hyder Ali, from social science textbooks to reduce the 2020-21 syllabi for students of Classes I to X.

The government, which has failed to control the spread of coronavirus, is using it as an opportunity to push its clandestine agenda of saffronising the textbooks

Stop it Sir! We are tired of your rantings of '' saffronizing'' , BJP is that, BJP is this complaints and blames. Like many have asked here .What is your action ? Stop projecting yourself as the savior of minorities and their faiths. If you are so concerned please involve and acquit innocent Amulya Leona from the cases filed on her.
If you do that , then we can say, we trust you and you really are a friend of minorities. If not sorry, we will have to think twice before casting our vote this time.

Anything that is taught now has to withstand research at higher studies. If during research, not necessarily in India, if one realizes that their topics were doctored and not true, imagine the loss as well as confusion. Indians will not be respected. Present day all scientific research happens outside, humanities, historical research does happen in India. If this field also is biased, then god save us

According to me remove all references of GOD from children's textbooks.. school should be a place where children gain the knowledge to explore the universe. Based on the knowledge gained they should be able to determine the true meaning of GOD. There are enough sources for children to learn about GOD: parents, religious places etc. Kindly keep "ALL GOD'S" out of school textbooks...!!!

Human ignorance is when they start defending GODS reputation.,..!! :)

Honestly I don't have any problem with Tipu Sultan but there are better rulers to learn from than Tippu. Tippu was a tyrant....! Yes he was a brave ruler who fought against the enemies of HIS kingdom. That doesn't mean there is something to learn from him.
I would suggest include Akbar the great..! he was a ruler who was Tolerant and brought about a lot of changes to the land he ruled. He was a lover of arts too.
There are enough great rulers produced by our land who were tolerant and loved. So it's better to include them than Tippu. No offense but just an opinion.

First of all are you all Indians, If Yes, why are you supporting for removal of Syllabus which was there and studied by all for so many years, Guys dont think of a political Party or from a Religion point of view, Think as an Indian why this should be removed, what gain is going to be there, when we all have study and understood Indian History let it continue, let the younger Generation also learn our culture and History, Tomorrow some other Government will come and what will happen if Ramayan and Mahabharata is removed from our History, Is that Good, Definitely not. When school kids learn all religion which adds knowledge of various religious beliefs and makes them wise rather than narrow minded like some counties who never allows other belief to practice. My son is 17 years old born in north America but he learned many world religion which make him better understand other people and easy to reconcile the differences. That is beauty of life.

You said the same thing is prior 2019 elections . Cong was decimated! .The leader was routed by a lady for non performance, and had to flee his family bastion to contest in a safe constituency in Kerala to win on Muslim votes. The only option left to sheepishly blame EVM. In the state, if Cong wants to continue with the likes of Siddu , DKS etc, its better for Cong to merge with JDS to form a formidable opposition.

Also Wayanad has major share of Tribes in Kerala and they played a major role in defeating British in Malabar region. For the people who see religion, it is the place of minorities(muslims, christians, tribes). But if you see history, it is a place of histories.
