Bantwal: 'Shed misgivings, strengthen resolve to fight coronavirus' - Janardhana Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Jul 24: "We have to shed all misgivings and wrong ideas one may be having about coronavirus. If anyone is infected, he has to toughen his determination and adopt a positive approach. Instead of fearing the disease, it is easier to get rid of the disease if we treat it just like any other normal ailment. At the same time, the others should never do anything that can instil fear in the minds of the patients," said former union minister B Janardhana Poojary.

Poojary and his family members, who had recently tested positive for coronavirus infection, have since been treated and discharged from the hospital.

"Such diseases have come and gone in the past and there are possibilities of more such diseases bothering us in future. If we believe that it is a common disease, we can get cured within a couple of weeks. People should desist from treating coronavirus patients as untouchables. This attitude discourages people having symptoms of this disease from revealing them," he explained. He said that shedding misconceptions about the disease and creating confidence among the patients instead of creating fear goes a long way in curing the disease.

He criticised those who detest corona patients. He felt that we should detest the disease and not the patient. "The people, instead of being frightful about the disease, should lay more emphasis on following safety norms, which greatly reduces chances of infection. Mainly wearing of masks when going out of the house is very much necessary. He also said that as long as our body's immunity is good, no diseases can have an upper hand and even if we get the disease, we will be cured of it faster. This can be achieved by making changes in the food habits, he noted.

    Cynthi,

I honestly believe we are more afraid of COVID-19 than necessary....Its very similar to Flu Virus and last as long as Flu Virus does.... 1-2 Weeks...and once we are cured we get anti-bodies which protect us similar Virus for a period of normally an year....Just like Vaccination...Death rate of common Flu is about 0.2% and COVID-19 is 2%....mostly elderly and people having prior Pulmonary ailments ....

With wearing mask and hand gloves and social distancing this can be controlled to great extent...till we get a vaccination for this Virus...

Now Poojary's different looks...perhaps its due to not coloring his hair and missing mustache....

    KM???

    ...Tak...Takk...
