Mumbai, Jul 23: Director of Mumbai’s popular Arunodaya Kala Niketan, former employee of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Raju Sriyan Navunda (51) passed away at his Tirupathi Heights residence at Sion Chunabhatti on Thursday morning after a massive heart attack.

He hailed from Navunda, Kundapur and was well known in Mumbai as a huge social thinker, arts lover and arts promoter. He had worked as office bearer and activist in Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee Mogaveera Vyavastapaka Mandali Mumbai, Karnataka Sangha Mumbai, Mogaveera Mahajana Seva Sangha Mumbai, Kannadiga Kalavidara Parishat Maharashtra and other Tulu Kannada groups and associations.

He was close to Nadoja G Shanker Udupi, was known as friendly, well known social worker and arts promoter.

He has left behind his wife Dr Meenakshi Raju Sriyan who is the director of Arunodaya Kala Niketan, two sons, a huge group of artistes, friends and relatives.
