Mumbai, Jul 23: A special POCSO Act court at Dindoshi sentenced a 68-year-old businessman to five years rigorous imprisonment for repeated sexual abuse. The victim, a ten-year-old is said to be his niece, a Bangladeshi. The judgment was pronounced on Wednesday, July 22.
The victim's paternal aunt, a 58-year-old woman, the wife of the accused was charged guilty of abetting the crime by asking the child to keep silent. She was also sentenced to five years.
Public prosecutor, Geeta Malankar examined the witnesses. She was also the child's teacher and an NGO worker.
