Panic grips Margao residents from surge in Covid cases

Margao, Jul 23: Panic intensified among the residents of Margao after a surge of coronavirus cases were reported. On Wednesday, July 22, over people tested positive for the infection, taking the tally of active cases under Margao urban health centre to 67.

Meanwhile, a hotel owner from the new municipal market passed away from the coronavirus on Wednesday.

The locals grew more alarmed after coronavirus cases emerged from the Gandhi market area. Few more people from the immediate vicinity of the patient were taken for testing as a part of the contact tracing exercise. The number of cases under the jurisdiction of Vasco primary health centre shot from 356 on Tuesday to 374 on Wednesday.
