Kundapur, Jul 23: In an incident which happened at Surakunda in Chittur village in the taluk approximately at 4 am on Wednesday July 22, two cows were stolen from the cattle shed and transported in a violent way in an Innova car.
Owner of the cows, Rajeevi Shedthi, filed a complaint in the police station about the theft. Rajeevi has identified the thieves as Unni Mohin and his two children.
Unni Mohin and his two children had arrived near Rajeevi's house in an Innova car and a motorbike. They had forcibly stuffed two cows which were found tethered in the cattle shed of Rajeevi into the car. When they were about to take the cattle away, the family members woke up and raised an alarm.
The people who went in search, succeeded in intercepting the Innova car and motorbike at Merdi in Chittur village at around 5 am. When the family members of Rajeevi visited the spot, they found that two cows belonging to them were loaded onto the back seat of the car bearing registration number KA 19 C 1635. Two accused who were in the car succeeded in fleeing. It was found that the accused, Unni Mohin, was seated on the motorbike bearing registration number KL 57 A 7825 that accompanied the car.
It is learnt that Unni Mohin had visited the residence of Rajeevi Shedthi on Tuesday July 21, expressed interest in buying the cows, and enquired about the sale of cows and Rajeevi had said the family did not propose to sell them. This fact also has been mentioned in the complaint.
