Bengaluru, Jul 21: State health minister, B Sriramulu, said in a tweet that the government has been initiating various measures from time to time to bring coronavirus infection under control in the state. However, he said that the state's efforts were largely blunted by a large number of people who came into the state from other states after the lockdown was lifted.
He said that a few labs had to be sealed initially as the lab technicians developed an infection. This created bottlenecks for conducting corona tests. "In this background, we are increasing the quantum of COVID tests and simultaneously increasing the number of laboratories at the district level," he stated.
"We are working as a team under the leadership of chief minister B S Yediyurappa, day in and day out. The World Health Organization expects the infection level in India to decline in October or November. Let us be optimistic," he added.
