Bengaluru, Jul 20: State primary and secondary education minister, Suresh Kumar, has asserted that no decision has so far been taken about the reopening of schools.
The union department of human resources wants the schools in the state to become functional in September. It is said that the state government also is in favour of opening of schools in September. Suresh Kumar said that this is not the decision of the state government. He said that a general opinion which would have emerged at a meeting of education department officials perhaps has been projected in this way.
The minister said that during the coronavirus time, the preferences of the educational department has undergone a change, and that the state government has involved itself in handling these things in a proper way. He added that the students will attend schools only after a free and fair environment where they do not foresee any problems is created.
"We have not taken a decision on opening of schools. People need not be unduly worried about this," he added.
