Bengaluru, Jul 19: The state government has given permission for the project of teaching classes on Chandanavahini channel of Doordarshan from July till December for the students of eighth, ninth and tenth standards in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
Responsibility has been given to the director of education department to make arrangements for students who do not have television to watch the same in the homes of students who have TV. One teacher will be nominated for every 20 students to ensure the success of the project.

The government has also asked teachers to conduct a minor examination every month.
The Karnataka government has to pay Rs 1.17 crore to Doordarshan for the programme which will be telecast for 120 days. In addition, the state government has to also pay an amount of Rs 19.20 lac to Doordarshan towards daily allowance, travelling allowance and payment allowance of resource persons.
The state government has also agreed to make the required payment to the technical team of the studio, to buy additional equipment in the studio, logistic expenses of vehicles and other expenses.
