Ras Al Khaimah, Jul 2: The first chartered flight arranged by SKSSF Karnataka UAE committee for the stranded Kannadigas of UAE, reached Bengaluru on the night of Wednesday July 1.
The flight left international airport Ras Al Khaimah at 5 pm and reached Bengaluru international airport at 10 pm on Wednesday. The flight carried 168 NRIs who were facing difficulties in Duabi, Abudhabi and Sharjah emirates.
The committee had also arranged food kit, medical kit and air ticket for the stranded Kannadigas in UAE and other campaigns to instill confiedence and courage in them with the help of kind-hearted donors.
More chartered flights are going to be sent from UAE to Bengaluru and Mangaluru according to the information shared by chief secretary of the committee, Sulaiman Moulvi Kallega, vice-president Sheriff Kavu and Vikhaya chairman Nawaz B C Road.
The SpiceJet flight that carried the passengers included pregnant women, patients in need of urgent medical treatment, senior citizens and those who were stuck in UAE on visit visa.
Transport arrangements were made for the passengers to reach the Ras Al Khaimah airport from various parts of UAE by the committee. The members of Vikhaya team helped as volunteers during the entering, receiving and boarding operation at the airport.
