Sharjah, Jun 28: Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) an entity registered with Community Development Authority, UAE and Government of Dubai, arranged a second charter flight to repatriate stranded Kannadigas in UAE. The flight landed at Mangalore International Airport at 6:00 am on Saturday, June 27.
The Air Arabia flight with 171 passengers took off from Sharjah International Airport around 1:00 am (UAE time). The flight had 18 pregnant women, nine children, three infants, eight senior citizens, 20 people with medical emergencies, people who faced job loss, stranded visit visa holders and those who had reported deaths in their families.
KSCC had set up a help desk to finalize the list of passengers and guide them throughout the process, all the legal procedures were carried out smoothly.
KSCC president Mohammed Ismail accorded a warm welcome to all passengers. As per procedure, rapid tests for COVID-19 was conducted before departure and mandatory quarantine for all the passengers was arranged accordingly in three hotels of Mangaluru for a period of seven days.
KSCC officials Ismail, Javed, Safwan and the volunteers were present at the airport during the time of departure for rendering support to the passengers. KSCC also extended gratitude to the consulate general, DC of DK district, Umar UH, Ataullah Jokkate for their support.
