Udupi: Alleged looting of sand from Swarna river – Youth Congress lodges complaint to Lokayukta

Udupi, Jun 25: Udupi district youth Congress has lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta over alleged digging of Swarna river and looting sand from it.

The complaint lodged against the deputy commissioner is likely to shift sand related affairs to the Lokayukta.

The complainant alleged dereliction of duty by the deputy commissioner. The Lokayukta which accepted the complaint said that on the onset there appear to be illegalities.

The Lokayukta has directed the deputy commissioner to issue a public statement in this connection. Udupi district youth Congress has urged for a detailed investigation concerning the alleged violations.
