Bengaluru, Jun 22: As people are worried about the coronavirus menace that has been strengthening its grip on the state, more and more people are volunteering to stay indoors. The state appears to be slipping back to its days of seal down with the exception that the current seal down is undeclared.
In areas where more coronavirus cases are being reported, people are observing seal down norms on their own. They are reducing their outdoor activity and are guarding localities against the entry of outsiders. These development have been noticed in the city, Kanakapura, and some other places.
The country has seen a prolonged lockdown period. Still, there has been an increased coronavirus activity that has baffled the people and health activists alike. Many feel that the situation was well under control when lockdown was in force. Unless something drastic is done to arrest the trend, many believe, the state may shortly go back to the days of official lockdown.
The state has over 9,000 infected people with 453 cases out of which 196 were from Bengaluru alone, having been reported on Sunday. As many as 5,618 have been healed while there are 3,393 active cases. Out of the above 196, 103 have a history of typhoid, sources said. Twenty-three among them were in contact with infected persons while in the case of 66, no such contact was found.
