Mangaluru, Jun 18: Concerning the English examination held, the district PU education department gave brief information regarding the number of students who were present and those who were absent. "Over 26,486 students appeared for the second PUC English examination in between COVID-19 scare, and 466 students were absent."
Around 26,952 students had registered for English examination and 26,486 students have appeared for it, the department added.
Besides Dakshina Kannada district, 760 students had arrived from Kerala. Their parents had brought their children to the Talapady border at 7 am. They were later ferried in 12 college buses and 22 KSRTC buses with the cooperation of PU education department and the district administration to different examination centres in the district.
The deputy director of PU education department in the district thanked the officials, staff, principals, lecturers, students, police department and the bus staff who cooperated for the success of the examination held as per COVID-19 regulations.
