Panaji, Jun 18: Air India has announced that two more repatriation flights would leave from Dubai to Goa on June 21 and 25.
The special flights are scheduled to arrive at Dabolim airport in Goa at 4:40 AM departing from Dubai at 12 in the noon. Air India spokesperson said that the flights were part of Vande Bharat Mission to repatriate stranded Indians from UAE carrying 149 passengers in each.
The flights were scheduled after many requests from expatriates and lobbying with coordinating agencies. This comes as a great relief to many stranded Goans in the UAE. “The last repatriation flight to Goa had gone full and there were still several expectant mothers, senior people, people on expired visit visas and those who were facing job losses. These flights will come as a great relief to these stranded people,” said Vishanti Coutancar, a UAE resident. She said that those wanting to travel could still register at https://www.nri.goa.gov.im/nri-asst-form-html and https://cgidubai.gov.in.
All travellers are asked to abide by the standard of operating procedures at the airports. Upon arrival, Aarogya Setu app must be installed and register themselves failing of which passengers would not be allowed to leave the airport.
