Collector declares part of Baina as containment zone

Panaji, Jun 17: South Goa collector issued a notification with regards to rising cases and declared a part of Baina as micro containment zone.

The micro containment zone constituted of some homes from ward number 9 and Bagabai area of Baina is notified as buffer zone. The notification was issued after 14 people tested positive from three families.

After Mangor Hill and Ghodemal at Morle village, this would be the third containment zone.

Chief minister Pramod Sawant said that the government would go for a micro containment zone as cases reported from Baina are distributed within the area and the adjoining buildings would be buffer zones.

27 positive cases were detected in Baina as of Tuesday June 16.
