BJP-led government in Goa not helping underprivileged: Congress

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji (SHP)

Panaji, Jun 15: State Congress president, Girish Chodankar accused the BJP-led government of overlooking the needs of the underprivileged in Goa. He claimed that the current state government had increased power tariffs and fuel prices and put a stop to the financial aid for the destitute.

Chodankar demanded that the BJP-led government come forward and be transparent to the voters regarding where the collected money was being spent.

“The BJP government has increased the tariffs in electricity, hiked rates of petrol and diesel, and is literally looting the common man during this pandemic when household budgets have completely collapsed due to economic crisis,” Chodankar said.

He alleged that while the BJP was heavily taxing people, they also pulled the plug on all social welfare schemes providing financial assistance to the needy.
