Mangaluru, Jun 15: In an operation launched near Kottara here on Sunday June 14 morning, sabre-wielding workers of Bajrang Dal had intercepted a vehicle, alleging that illegal cattle transportation was underway, near Kottara here.
The operation was captured in the CCTV. The cattle were being transported illegally in a mini tempo. It is said that the cattle were being taken to the slaughterhouse at Kudroli here.
The workers rescued four buffaloes loaded in the van. The tempo driver was handed over to the police.

It was said that the driver was thrashed after tying him to the vehicle. In this respect, a complaint and counter complaint were registered at Urwa police station.

Mangaluru, Jun 15: A vehicle loaded with four buffaloes was intercepted reportedly by Bajrang Dal activists near Infosys building at Kottara here on Sunday June 14. It is said the activists forced a person named Rahman to get down from the vehicle and then thrashed him duly tying him to the vehicle.
The police were informed that the cattle were being transported illegally in a violent manner. The police visited the spot and took into custody the trader and the buffaloes. Rahman was taken to hospital where his health check and COVID test were performed. Thereafter, he was produced before the judge. In this respect, a complaint and counter complaint were registered at Urwa police station.
It is said that the trader was transporting the buffaloes from Jokatte to the slaughterhouse at Kudroli. Reportedly, Rahman had recently bought ten cattle including the buffaloes from the agricultural market at Ranebennur in Haveri district. He had sold six among them and the remaining were with him. On Sunday, he was transporting the buffaloes from Jokatte to Kudroli when the said incident happened.
