Karkala, Feb 7: Primary and higher secondary education minister Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri on Saturday February 7 assured to look into the demand for pre-university college in the region.
He was speaking after inaugurating Mass Resource Centre at Hosmar here jointly set up by the zilla panchayat (ZP) public instructions department and Sarvashiksha Abhiyan. State government is mulling to implement various projects to provide quality education to children. It is also up to teachers to utilize the available facilties in a manner that improves standard of education as a whole, he said. He added that education that creates awareness on our nationality and society needs to be imparted to children besides curriculum.
Allaying fears that government lacks fund to distribute salary to teachers, Kageri assured that salaries will be distributed on time henceforth. The reason for infrequent delays in distributing salaries has been purely technical, he stressed.
Local MLA Gopal Bhandary presided. Earlier, M P Sadananda Gowda and MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik inaugurated anganwady centre and classroom, respectively.
ZP district vice-president Dr Santhosh Kumar Shetty, former MLA Sunil Kumar, taluk panchayat president Udaya Kotian and gram panchayat president Gangadhar Devadiga were present.
