Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 10: Four new cases of novel coronavirus were reported in Dakshina Kannada, while no new cases were detected in Udupi on Wednesday June 10.
In Dakshina Kannada, a total of 42,957 people have been screened so far. A total of 9,916 samples have been sent for tests so far, out of which 9,594 have tested negative, and 222 positive, including 10 persons from other districts. Out of these, 98 are currently active. As many as 117 persons have recovered and been discharged, and seven deaths have occurred so far.
Two patients were discharged from Wenlock on Wednesday. These include a 28-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy.
As many as 65 samples were sent for testing on Wednesday. Reports of 59 samples were received on Wednesday, out of which four tested positive and the rest negative. Reports of 13 samples are awaited.
In Dakshina Kannada, among the four patients who tested positive on Wednesday, who are all males, two are Maharashtra returnees aged 30 and 40, and two others aged 29 and 60 have travelled from Saudi Arabia.
As many as 17 persons were admitted on Wednesday for observation.
A total of 5,335 people have been treated at fever clinics so far. On Wednesday, 14 cases of severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) were reported.
Udupi
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 4,590 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 118 on Wednesday, and a total of 4,845 have completed 14 days of quarantine, including two on Wednesday. As many as 376 persons are currently in home quarantine and 218 people under institutional quarantine. As many as two high-risk patients are admitted in hospital quarantine.
A total of 70 people are in isolation wards, including seven fresh admissions on Wednesday. Among them, one is a coronavirus suspect, while three have SARI and three influenza-like illness.
As many as 807 people, including 19 on Wednesday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 12,680 samples have been collected so far, including 123 on Wednesday. Out of them, 11,612 samples have turned out to be negative, including 34 on Wednesday, and 122 reports are awaited. As many as 946 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district. As many as 459 patients have been discharged including 155 on Wednesday, and 486 cases are active. One death has occurred so far.
