Kasargod, Jun 8: "Though Karnataka government has permitted people of Kasargod to enter Dakshina Kannada, the district administration is denying passes," said K Srikanth, lawyer and district president of BJP. He also said that due to this people of Kasargod are unable to enter Mangaluru and are facing problems.
Srikanth also accused that deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh is not following the instructions of the state government and has declared a war on the people of Kasargod.
District BJP committee of Kasargod accused that the district administration of Dakshina Kannada district is playing delaying tactics for issuing passes for people of Kasargod who want to go to Dakshina Kannada district for their livelihood. It also accused that certain high-ranking officials are trying to spoil the name of Karnataka BJP government.
The district BJP committee further said, "There is no need for pass for inter-state travel as per the directive given by the central government. Chief secretary of Karnataka government has also followed the same directive and has given similar instructions to all the DCs. However, the district administration of Dakshina Kannada is acting like a super government."
Srikanth urged that certain senior officials in the administration of Dakshina Kannada district are not giving inter-state passes without giving any reason. They have some vested interest in this matter. Strict action should be taken against such people who are anti-people.
Srikanth also said that a complaint will be filed with B S Yediyurappa, chief minister of Karnataka in this regard.
