Four including one Dubai returnee test corona-positive in DK, 92 cases in Udupi on Jun 4

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 4: Four coronavirus cases were detected in Dakshina Kannada (DK) while cases 92 people tested positive in Udupi on Thursday June 4.

Three males aged 34, 48 and 50 and a 28-year-old woman has tested positive. The woman had come from Dubai and while the three men had travelled from Maharashtra.

With this the total number of cases have increased to 143 in DK. Seventy-six among them have been discharged, and 60 are active. Seven deaths have occurred so far.

As many as 92 people including 78 males, 13 females and one child, tested positive in Udupi on Thursday. All 92 of them had come from Maharashtra.

As many as 563 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in Udupi district. A total of 108 among them have been discharged, and 454 are active. One death has occurred so far.

    Almost all with exception of very few positive cases are from outside state and patients are in quarantine. With same level of alertness and strict quarantine will keep Udupi safe! Lets hope only people tested negative go home! We may need half a dozen testing labs in each districts to test Covid within a day!

    Whether it is improvement in recovery or more cases of positive reported,I pray only for the complete elimination of Corona virus and fast recovery of the people infected.I don't want to comment on this subject more but my wish is no more infection with anybody is reported and no further damages to be done.enough is enough.All the living organisms,animals,insects,human beings should be saved and protected and allow us to live normal life as earlier at the earliest possible.All are in trouble,problems,difficulties.GOD PLEASE SAVE AND PROTECT US FROM THE SPREAD OF THIS DEADLY CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC DISEASE.

    Looks like Comunity spread is imminent in Udupi area . But good part is most are recovering which means soon Udupi shall have herd immunity and shall overcome this infection. Lets support the goverment in its activities Lets keep on washing hands Use masks and maintain social distancing I am sure we shall overcome

    Herd immunity requires 70% to 90% people getting infected in an area & developing Antibody against Corona Virus.

    Do you think 70% people of Udupi have got infected with Virus & Recovered from it?

    In Most Severely affected European cities study shows, around 10% people have antibody against Corona virus... Udupi did not had situation like Italy or other European countries.

    Udupi is at-least 3-4 years away from Herd Immunity at this rate of Infection.

    Raj Karkala.... Out of 15,000 only 500 may test positive. With more labs they can be tested faster. There are schools and kalyana matapas for temporary institutional quarantine. We need them for donations, needs and we are selfish when they want to return to own home????? Where is Tax money (28% GST), other taxes and revenue, PM/ CM fund going?? Selected Pockets by means of tendering jobs and developments??? Can we not set up 6 to 10 testing labs in few dozens available hospitals and medical colleges in Udupi district? With cost tag of one MLA we can set up few dozen Covid testing labs!! More the tests better the control! Its high time to stop comparing India with other countries and praising our corrupt politicians and parties!
