Mangalore: Excise Officials Seize Rs 1.10 lac worth Goan Liquor, Arrest Four

Mangalore, Jan 27: Excise department officials under the direction of deputy commissioner N M Hussain, arrested four persons at railway station in the city and seize 4,800 sachets of liquor produced in Goa worth Rs 1.10 lac on Wednesday January 27.
Santhosh Kumar Naik (26) resident of Manki in Honnavar, Manjunath (34) resident of Sirsi, Nagappa Honnappa Naik (37) resident of Kavoor in Bhatkal and Praveen (32) resident of Sakleshpur are the arrested. They were transporting the liquor sachets to Kerala via train.
Excise DC N M Hussain said that the excise personnel on a tip-off checked at the railway station and seized the liquor packets by arresting the four persons. The investigation is on to track their criminal record. He also said that the department is thoroughly investigating on the transportation of Goa liquor to Kerala state.
The department is also investigating into the suppliers of the liquor suspecting their involvement.
