Mangalore, Jan 16: An incident wherein a quarrel between two petty thieves ended with one killing the other came to light on Saturday January 16.
The body of Bhaskar, a resident of Perdoor, Brahmavar in Udupi district, a pickpocketer was found lying in the pool of blood in front of a bar near State Bank in the heart of the city. Bhaskar’s head was smashed dropping a boulder over his head. The accused has fled the scene without leaving behind any clue for identification.
According to eyewitnesses, quarrel ensued between Bhaskar and another pickpocketer over sharing booty from a theft. The quarrel that ensued after consuming alcohol in a nearby bar continued even after the bar downed its shutters. It is now suspected that the quarrel ended with Bhaskar’s murder.
Mangalore North (Bunder) police have registered a case.
