Udupi, May 15: Sanitizers are widely used all over the world to prevent self from the COVID-19 virus. The use of the same sanitizer bottle in public places like shops and other office premises by many people is also a risk. Many people would touch the same bottle and it would lead to an increase in the scare.

To counter this problem, Kalkura Refrigeration and Kitchen Equipments Pvt ltd came up with a unique 'foot-operated sanitizer stand'. This stand helps in using sanitizers without touching the bottle. The person willing to get his/her hands sanitized need to press a pedal with their foot and the bottle placed on the top will pop the sanitizers on the hands. There will be no touching of the bottle with hands.

"This stand is easy to carry and is made with quality stainless steel. It is suitable for use in offices, schools, hotels, shops and many other places also. This stand costs around Rs 4,000. But as a contribution to the society we are providing this product at a rate of Rs 2,500 including GST," said Ranjan Kalkura, managing director Kalkura Refrigeration and Kitchen Equipments Pvt Ltd.

"Keeping our hands clean is a necessary step for preventing this epidemic. This stand is easy to use and does not need any sort of maintenance. We had produced 1,000 units of these foot-operated hand sanitizers. More than 150 units are already used and are in many shops, hospitals and public spaces of Udupi and Bengaluru," he added.

Another innovative product to catch the COVID-19 suspected persons while escaping a specialized equipment is prepared by the company. This stick-like equipment can catch the suspected person by maintaining social distance. This is a very helpful equipment to COVID warriors.
